An Integrated Disease Monitoring Across Nigeria with the MDD

Following the official handover of the Multi-Disease Dashboard on 5th December 2025 to the Department of Public Health, Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare in Nigeria. A high-level engagement was convened to present the multi-disease dashboard (MDD) at both national and state levels. The session brought together senior public health officials and key stakeholders to review the dashboard’s capabilities in integrating and visualizing data across multiple disease areas. The meeting highlighted the dashboard’s functionality in supporting real-time data access, improving data-driven decision-making, and strengthening coordination across health programmes. Participants engaged in insightful discussions on its applicability for monitoring key indicators within HIV, Tuberculosis, and Malaria interventions as well Non communication disease (NCDs), Neglected Tropical Disease (NTD) and Community Led Monitoring (CLM).
A major outcome of the meeting was a strong recommendation to develop a structured plan for cascading the dashboard to additional states across the country. This is expected to enhance nationwide data harmonization, improve programme performance tracking, and support more responsive public health interventions.

National Launch and Flag-off of Lenacapavir - a long-acting injectable for HIV Prevention in Nigeria

We were delighted to participate in a landmark event hosted by the Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare Nigeria through the National AIDS, STIs and Hepatitis Control Programme, under the leadership of the Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare. Held in commemoration of World TB Day, the event also marked the National Launch and Flag-off of Lenacapavir (LEN) for HIV Prevention in Nigeria. Serving as a unified platform, it highlighted Nigeria’s commitment to addressing HIV and tuberculosis in a coordinated and impactful manner while promoting integrated service delivery and strengthened collaboration across disease programmes.
Lenacapavir represents a major milestone in Nigeria’s HIV response. As a long-acting prevention option, it offers the potential to expand prevention choices, improve adherence, and accelerate progress toward epidemic control.
The launch convened key stakeholders from government, development partners, civil society, and the private sector, formally introducing this innovative prevention approach and reaffirming Nigeria’s commitment to ending HIV/AIDS as a public health threat by 2030.

BI-Annual Coordination Meeting of the CSS Leadership to Monitor the National CLM Plan.

We had the pleasure of participating in a two-day residential Bi-Annual Coordination Meeting convened by the Civil Society in Malaria Control, Immunization, and Nutrition under the RSSH Grant, aimed at strengthening the implementation of the National Community-Led Monitoring (CLM) Plan.
The meeting brought together key stakeholders across the ATM network HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis, and Malaria, including CSO leadership, national programme staff, the Principal Recipient, and implementing partners to foster stronger coordination and collaboration. Key discussions focused on harmonizing CLM tools across disease areas, assessing implementation progress, identifying challenges, and developing practical solutions.
We also reviewed the integrated E-MIS platform and agreed on core indicators to enhance data reporting and inform decision-making. Overall, the engagement reinforced a shared commitment to improving programme effectiveness through a more coordinated and data-driven approach to community-led monitoring.
