As a Technology Director at The Global Fund and various strategic engagements with UN agencies, Vipin has helped transform the digital health ecosystem across lower and middle income countries impacting millions of lives across the globe.
Vipin has many years of experience working in the Silicon Valley and Wall Street as a thought leader in the inclusive finance and insurance sector and helped create new markets and business models across 20 countries.
He has worked on health and development over the last three decades including with the Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS) based in Geneva, Switzerland, where he served as the Director of the Office of Innovation and Partnerships. He has served in various functions at the UN at senior levels including as Director and Senior Policy Adviser to the UNAIDS Executive Director and was responsible for the successful development and negotiation for the unanimous adoption by the UN General Assembly of the High Level Political Declaration on AIDS in 2016 that for the first time set ambitious targets to end AIDS as a public health threat.
A former journalist and filmmaker, Pradeep serves on several Advisory Boards on health in the public sector and academic institutions. He is a recipient of the Schwab Foundation/ WEF Public Intrapreneur 2022 award. He is passionate about the potential role that innovation and technology can play in fast tracking progress towards SDG targets and is dedicated to supporting the public and private sector and communities in shaping the digital transformation for healthcare and climate.Pradeep Kakkattil is the founder and CEO of the Health Innovation and Investment Exchange (HIEx) a multilayered platform connecting governments, policymakers, innovators and investors to leverage innovations and technology towards scaling access to healthcare. He is also co-founder of the Women in Innovation Fund (WiNFUND) that invests in women led enterprises in health and addresses the inequities in access to financing for women led enterprises.

He brings with him an extensive expertise in M&E, program governance, and coordination. He holds degrees in Medicine and Public Health from esteemed institutions like the University of Lagos and the University of Benin, complemented by specialized training at Harvard School of Public Health.
He has made significant contributions to HIV/AIDS initiatives, with a strong track record in research and collaboration with governmental and international organizations. He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Epidemiology, further enhancing his expertise in public health.
